The Blancpain Sprint Series field will be bolstered by the arrival of two factory Lamborghini Huracáns GT3s at Misano next month.
After the Blancpain Endurance Series finale at the Nürburgring, Grasser Racing Team will head to Misano to give the Huracán GT3 its Sprint Series debut.
“I’m a fan of the Sprint Series; let’s see how the car will work over there,” Gottfried Grasser told Sportscar365.
Lamborghini will use the occasion to give two up-and-coming Super Trofeo drivers their GT3 debut. Both will share a car with a more experienced driver from the current factory roster.
“It’s a test race for us because of the different regulations, but it’s also a great opportunity for two very fast drivers from the Super Trofeo,” Grasser added.
Current Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe points leader Patrick Kujala will team up with Mirko Bortolotti, while the second Huracán will be driven by Jeroen Mul and Alberto Di Folco.
The one-off entry of the factory Lamborghini squad comes at a time that the series is struggling to put together a healthy grid, with only 15 cars showing up at the most recent Algarve round.
The complete entry list for the penultimate BSS weekend will be announced in a weeks’ time.
