JMW Motorsport/GB Autosport’s Michael Avenatti, Kuba Giermaziak and Abdulaziz Al Faisal check into Sportscar365 following the first round of qualifying for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The No. 66 Ferrari F458 Italia provisionally sits 11th in GTE-Am in qualifying, with two further sessions to set the grid on tap for Thursday.

    Kuba is flying. Too bad checkwriter Avenatti had to buy Kuba’s ride. Did Av make the minimum speed? if 107% then barely or not. So sad someone of Kuba’s skills needs such person to buy him in. Hope they enforce the rules on the minimum.

    If its 125% as it was in the past, then drivers should need to be under the 4:23 bracket, if my math is correct. Only drivers not to do that are Avenatti (4.26.5) and Hans-Chen Chen (4:31.567), but if I remember correctly, the ACO is very lenient, especially if weather is a factor. I remember the Roberston’s in their Ford GT a few years ago were in the 4:36 and 4:42 range I believe but were allowed to race. The ACO usually doesnt care. As long as it isn’t dangerous, doesn’t really matter anyway if one or two drivers is way off
