The chances of seeing a factory supported Jaguar effort in the near future is unlikely, with the British manufacturer having reportedly decided against a program for the production-based GT ranks. (En Français)

Multiple sources have confirmed to Sportscar365 and Endurance-Info that a proposal to build and develop a F-Type GT3 car has been shot down by the Indian-owned automaker, following a study for the possible arrival into endurance racing, which also had included options in GTE and LMP1.

Details are unclear at this point, although it’s understood the decision was primarily based around the budget required for such a program. The decision not to move forward was taken this month.

While Jaguar will not be on the grid in an official capacity for the time being, a privateer XKR, developed by Emil Frey Racing, is expected to take part in this year’s Blancpain Endurance Series.
