Oreca 05 LMP2 Car Revealed

ORECA has revealed the first official image of its new-for-2015 LMP2 contender, which will debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series.

The Oreca 05, the successor to the French manufacturer’s Oreca 03, is the first LMP2 coupe from the Hughes de Chaunac-led company, and is based off the Oreca designed and built Rebellion R-One LMP1 car.

KCMG and Thiriet by TDS Racing will campaign the cars in the FIA WEC and ELMS, respectively, with both teams also having secured entries for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Additional customer teams are expected later in the year, with Oreca having previously stated its ambitions to have the Oreca 05 compete in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship by season’s end.

The car is expected to make its public on-track debut during the ELMS official pre-season test at Paul Ricard next month.
