At least two drivers are set to pull double-duty in next weekend’s International Sports Car weekend at the Circuit of The Americas, as David Heinemeier Hansson has landed a ride with RSR Racing for the American Le Mans Series event.
The 33-year-old Dane, who is undertaking his first full season in the FIA World Endurance Championship with OAK Racing, will join Bruno Junqueira in the Paul Gentilozzi-led squad’s Oreca FLM09.
It will mark Heinemeier Hansson’s second PC start of the ALMS season, having recorded a podium finish at Sebring with Performance Tech. He competed full-time last year with Conquest Racing, scoring two P2 class victories.
After selling their car to Starworks Motorsport, RSR plans to run a new car , co-owned by Duncan Ende, beginning at COTA. Ende is expected to be a part of the team’s lineup for the Petit Le Mans.
Heinemeier Hansson joins Tom Kimber-Smith as drivers expected to swap between the ALMS and WEC races.
