Enjoy a look back at Porsche’s success in the American Le Mans Series, which drew to a close with October’s running of the Petit Le Mans.

The German manufacturer successfully competed with its 911R, 911RS and 911RSRs in the highly competitive GT category, winning nine Manufacturer Championships, as well as with its RS Spyder Prototype, which won the LMP2 Championship three years in a row, 2006-2008.

“We have certainly ramped up our operation both at the shop and at the track in the last decade and a half, to meet the growing needs of our successful customer teams. The fierce competition in the ALMS forced us all to get better,” said Porsche Motorsport North America’s director of racing operations Owen Hayes.

“Personally, the RS Spyders were near and dear to my heart, but we are looking forward to our factory effort behind the two new 911 RSRs in the United SportsCar Championship.”
