De Quesada Leads Way in Friday Laguna Practice

Michael de Quesada ended the opening day of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge track action at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca quickest, leading the way for Motorsports In Action.

De Quesada took his No. 69 McLaren Artura GT4 to chart-topping lap of 1:28.055 late in Friday’s second hour-long practice session to edge out the 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Daniel Morad by 0.321 seconds.

Trent Hindman in the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport was third in the afternoon session and overall on the day, ahead of Jack Hawksworth’s No. 50 Hattori Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 and the Jesse Webb-driven No. 34 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG in fifth.

The top five times were all set in the afternoon session, with Aaron Telitz’s Practice 1 1:28.816 pace-setting lap in the No. 88 Archangel Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 good enough for the sixth quickest time on the day.

TCR was led in both sessions by the No. 6 Montreal Motorsport Group Honda Civic FL5 TCR of Bryan Ortiz

Qualifying for Pilot Challenge competitors is scheduled for Saturday at 8:20 a.m. PDT (11:20 a.m. PDT) followed by the two-hour race at 2 p.m. PDT (5 p.m. EDT) with live coverage on Peacock and IMSA Radio.
