Trenton Estep and Allen Patten have joined Van der Steur Racing for the remainder of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season, beginning with next week’s Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 at Sebring International Raceway.
The duo will pilot the team’s No. 66 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo after starting the season at the wheel of a Thunder Bunny Racing BMW M4 GT4 EVO in January’s BMW M Endurance Challenge, recording a 16th place finish.
It marks a second entry for the New Jersey-based squad, with the No. 10 Aston Martin of Christine and Ben Sloss set for a partial Pilot Challenge season program.
“I am beyond excited to share the VDSR Aston Martin with Trenton,” said Patten.
“This team has years of success with the platform, and we look forward to doing our part in building on that success in the Michelin Pilot Challenge.”
Estep added: “It feels great to be back competing in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. I’ve always enjoyed racing in this series, and stepping into the Aston Martin GT4 presents a fresh challenge I’m hungry for.
“I know we have a great support structure behind us with VDSR and having Allen alongside me makes it even better. We’re motivated, prepared, and focused on the task ahead.”
The team’s expanded Pilot Challenge effort comes in addition to its new full season venture in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, after debuting last year with a Michelin Endurance Cup-only program.
