Acura has revealed the first on-track photos of the new NSX GT3, which is expected to debut in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Pirelli World Challenge next year.
The photos, which appear to have been taken at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, Mich., have been released following at least two tests for the car in the U.S., run by Honda Performance Development.
It’s understood the car has also recently tested at Road America, with further testing and development planned in the run up to September’s Balance of Performance test in Ladoux, for 2017 GT3 homologation.
HPD has taken over the project from JAS Motorsport, which built the initial car, with HRD in Japan having spearheaded the design.
The automaker has yet to provide details its 2017 program, other than a commitment to either PWC and/or WeatherTech Championship competition.
