IMSA has confirmed 31 cars for this weekend’s three-day sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway in an official entry list that includes The Heart of Racing Team’s Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH.
The V12-powered LMH machine, bearing the No. 23, will be piloted by Ross Gunn, Alex Riberas and Roman De Angelis.
While the team’s 2025 driver lineup has yet to be announced, all three drivers are understood to be likely candidates for race seats.
The Valkyrie AMR-LMH comes to Daytona as part of its North American testing program ahead of its 2025 race debut in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Kevin Estre and Julien Andlauer join Porsche Penske Motorsport alongside its two confirmed 2025 driver pairings, while Tijmen van der Helm, Chris Miller and Gianmaria Bruni pilot JDC-Miller Motorsports’ sole customer Porsche 963.
Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing has all of its drivers present aboard both the No. 10 and No. 40 Cadillac V-Series.Rs, with the exception of Kamui Kobayashi and Brendon Hartley.
Action Express Racing, meanwhile, will utilize its previously-announced driver lineup this weekend, but it has also allotted space for a fourth driver to turn laps.
NTT IndyCar Series stars Alex Palou, Scott Dixon, and Felix Rosenqvist will drive in Acura Meyer Shank Racing’s pair of Acura ARX-06s ahead of their upcoming Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona outing alongside the team’s full-season drivers, with Honda’s Kakunoshin Ohta making his inaugural GTP outing in the No. 93 machine this weekend.
BMW M Team RLL, meanwhile has Robin Frijns and Max Hesse listed alongside Marco Wittmann and Philipp Eng across both the No. 24 and No. 25 BMW M Hybrid V8.
Frijns and Wittmann competed with BMW in WEC’s Hypercar class this past season, while Hesse is set for his second test outing in short succession.
The former Junior Team member turned factory driver piloted the Dallara-chassised prototype at the WEC rookie test in Bahrain earlier this month.
Lamborghini Iron Lynx is the only GTP team to utilize just two drivers for the three-day test, with Romain Grosjean and Andrea Caldarelli sharing the No. 63 SC63.
Also present are seven LMP2 class entries, five GTD Pro cars, and seven GTD machines.
In LMP2, Formula 1 ace Felipe Massa rejoins Josh Burdon, Felipe Fraga, and Gar Robinson at Riley after making his sports car racing debut with the team at this year’s Rolex 24.
Dane Cameron will turn laps for AO Racing in their No. 99 Oreca 07 Gibson on the back of his GTP title-winning campaign with Porsche Penske Motorsport. Cameron also recently tested in the team’s No. 14 European Le Mans Series entry in Portimao.
With 2024 GTD Pro champion Laurin Heinrich making his FIA GT World Cup debut in Macau this weekend, Klaus Bachler and Tom Sargent will complete the Daytona test in the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Seb Priaulx, meanwhile joins Ben Barker and Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 64 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Mustang GT3, with Dennis Olsen, Christopher Mies, and Frederic Vervisch in the sister No. 65 car.
Of note in the GTD ranks, Pipo Derani is set to drive the No. 36 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R with Charlie Eastwood, Salih Yoluc and Alec Udell.
Elsewhere in the class, No. 83 Iron Dames entry is listed as a Porsche 911 GT3 R. This comes after speculation that the team would make the switch from Lamborghini to Porsche machinery next season.
All GT3 manufacturers will run the new-for-2025 torque sensors set to assist Balance of Performance next season in GTD Pro and GTD.
A total of seven on-track sessions are scheduled over the weekend, with GTP and LMP2 cars set to run from Friday and Saturday, while GTD and GTD Pro cars will run their testing sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
However, all four classes will be on track together for two hours on Saturday evening.
Track action begins with a three-and-a-half-hour session for GTP and LMP2 cars on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. EDT.
