Sportscar365 is asking drivers from around the world what they’re doing during the COVID-19 pandemic and how they’re coping with the racing downtime.
This edition features sports car racing star Andy Lally (Twitter/Instagram) who drives a GRT-entered Magnus Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Where are you sitting out the COVID-19 crisis?
My girlfriend, Lori and I are camped out in the Atlanta area.
What’s on your current playlist?
I haven’t listened to a song since this all started. Bloomberg and CNBC as well as skimming through every channel on Sirius between 112 and 119 while driving.
Do you have any pets?
No, but my girlfriend has two Weimaraners that have to pee every eight minutes and have separation anxiety so that’s been fun to adapt to.
Do you have any favorite ‘chores’ to do around the house?
I live in a condo, but I’ve mowed my girlfriend’s lawn a ton.
What was your first car?
Ford F-350 dually with a 460ci engine and a fifth wheel.
What is your daily driver?
A Ford Raptor with lots of mods.
Approximately how many airline miles have you flown since the start of your racing career?
I’m a Million Miler on Delta. Probably 1.5 mil in 28 years of racing cars. Living in Atlanta I get to drive to a lot of races and have a lot of close events so although I fly almost every week, the mileage isn’t too high.
What’s the one thing you are most looking forward to the first day you return to a race track?
The green. F*** practice, qualifying, and all the other junk. Let’s just drop the rag and get at it!
