The No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Daniel Serra, Davide Rigon and James Calado has lost its GTD Pro class victory in Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans due to Serra exceeding four hours in a six-hour drive time period.
It has handed top class honors to the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth, Ben Barnicoat and Kyle Kirkwood, giving Lexus its first endurance race victory in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition.
Serra, who completed the closing stints in the Prancing Horse, was found to be 11 minutes over the maximum drive time in the six-hour period according to an IMSA spokesperson.
It marked the second post-race penalty for the Houston-based team in as many races after the No. 62 Ferrari lost out on a podium finish in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, also due to a drive-time infraction.
