Aaron Telitz led the way in the opening practice session of the weekend at Lime Rock Park for the FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix, putting the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 atop the time chart in the one-hour session.
Telitz reeled off a best time of 51.762 seconds in his GTD class entry to edge out the GTD Pro category-leading No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTD of Antonio Garcia by 0.059 seconds.
The No. 78 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 of Loris Spinelli was third on the overall time charts, followed by the GTD championship-leading No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Madison Snow.
Mikael Grenier completed the top five in the No. 32 Team Korthoff Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
Nineteen of the 20 cars taking part this weekend were separated by less than 1 second in the session that ran without any red flags.
The only notable incident came with front-to-rear contact between the Forte Lamborghini and No. 94 Andretti Autosport Aston Martin Vantage GT3, which brought up the rear of field.
Practice 2 is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. EDT, with qualifying in the early evening to conclude the day’s activities.
