A quicker pit stop put Gdovic’s No. 46 PPM Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo ahead of Race 2 pole-sitter Sergio Jimenez, who led the opening laps of Sunday’s 50-minute race.
Two subsequent full-course cautions, including one for a heavy crash by the LB Cup race-leading No. 33 US RaceTronics Lamborghini of John Hennessy, resulted in a two-lap shootout to the finish.
The No. 6 US RaceTronics entry of Steven Aghakhani and Jacob Eidson finished second — 1.410 seconds behind Gdovic — claiming significant points on championship leader Madison Snow in the Pro class.
Snow was provisionally classified fourth in the race after being involved with the incident with Hennessy.
Race 1 winner Jimenez, meanwhile, finished third in the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports entry.
Leo Lamelas picked up Pro-Am class honors in his No. 24 US RaceTronics Lamborghini while Victor Gomez continued his dominance in Am and Sydney McKee picking up her maiden win in LB Cup in the No. 87 Wayne Taylor Racing entry.
A number of cars, including the No. 99 ANSA entry of Danny Formal, the No. 63 Change Racing Lamborghini of Corey Lewis and eventual Am class winner Gomez, were forced to make their mandatory pit stop following the first yellow.
The majority of the field had pitted prior to the first yellow.
