Sergio Jimenez has inherited victory in Sunday’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca after multiple post-race time penalties, including to the top two finishers.

Both the No. 46 PPM Lamborghini of Brandon Gdovic and Steven Aghakhani’s No. 6 US RaceTronics entry were both given 29-second time penalties for “incomplete drive throughs.”

It promoted the Brazilian, who finished third on the road, to the win and giving Jimenez a sweep of the weekend in his ANSA Motorsports entry.

The penalties for both Gdovic and Aghakhani, due to having passed before the green on the race’s second-to-last restart, dropped them to 10th and 11th overall and at the bottom of the Pro class.

It has significant championship implications with points leader Madison Snow, now classified second, extending his lead over Aghakhani and Eidson heading into next month’s season finale at Sebring International Raceway.

Three additional cars were also penalized by race control post-race, with the No. 25 Prestige Performance/Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini given a 1.023-second post-race time penalty for having too short of a pit stop.

A similar 1.479-second penalty was also assessed to the No. 38 TPC Racing Lamborghini while the No. 286 US RaceTronics Lambo was handed an 89-second penalty for an incomplete stop and go and drive-through.

None of the additional penalties affected other class winners, which remain Leo Lamelas (Pro-Am), Victor Gomez (Am) and Sydney McKee (LB Cup).

RESULTS: Race 2 (Revised)
