Robert Noaker continued his dominant run in Mustang Challenge competition, scoring his seventh consecutive points-paying pole position of the season ahead of Saturday’s first race of the weekend at Virginia International Raceway.
The Robert Noaker Racing driver recorded a benchmark lap of 1:56.836 in the 15-minute qualifying session to outpace the No. 22 TechSport Ford Mustang Dark Horse R of Devin Anderson by 1.714 seconds.
Dark Horse Legends competitor Alfonso Diaz qualified third overall in his No. 15 TechSport Mustang, scoring class pole honors, ahead of Dark Horse class entrant Sandy Satullo in the No. 7 RNR entry, who was fourth on the time charts.
DHL points leader Alex Bachoura, of Spark Performance, and McCumbee McAleer Racing’s Zachry Lee, completed the overall top-six.
Anderson, meanwhile, incurred multiple penalties during qualifying, including a pit speed infraction, while a further incident will be reviewed by race control after the session.
