Hartog Quickest on Friday in Miami

Loek Hartog edged out Gus Burton to go quickest in the opening day of track action for Porsche Carrera Cup North America competitors at the Miami International Autodrome.

Hartog, in the No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car, reeled off a best lap of 1:57.311 in Friday’s second practice session to outpace Burton’s No. 20 MDK Motorsports Porsche by 0.220 seconds.

ACI Motorsports’ Jimmy Llibre made a late-session improvement to third, ahead of MDK driver Dan Clarke in fourth and opening practice pacesetter Alex Sedgwick in the No. 98 PT Autosport-backed JDX Motorsports Porsche completing the top-five.

Zachary Vanier was sixth in the No. 9 JDX Porsche, ahead of Baby Bull Racing’s Michael Cooper and Elias De La Torre, who completed the top-eight.

Efrin Castro again led the way in Pro-Am, thanks to a 1:58.837 lap time by the No. 65 Kellymoss Porsche, while Mark Kvamme came out on top in the Masters class in his No. 43 MDK Porsche.

Qualifying is scheduled to get underway Saturday at 12:55 p.m. EDT.
