Action Express Racing led the way in Friday’s mixed-condition final practice prior to qualifying for tomorrow’s Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda.
Joao Barbosa was quickest in the 60-minute session, posting a best lap of 1:23.232 in the championship-contending No. 5 Corvette DP.
Barbosa’s time was 0.394 seconds quicker than Scott Pruett, who was second, ahead of Nick Tandy, whose 1:24.015 lap time was good enough for third quickest overall in the GT Le Mans class No. 911 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR.
Jack Hawksworth (RSR Racing) led the way in Prototype Challenge, while Kuno Wittmer (TRG-AMR) posted the quickest time in GT Daytona.
The session was run without incident, despite starting off in wet conditions before drying out.
Qualifying is scheduled to get underway at 3:20 p.m. ET, but could face cancelation if there’s inclement weather.
