Lamborghini has announced its latest intake of 20 Super Trofeo and GT3 Junior Program drivers, who will be eligible to be selected for a shootout to gain official manufacturer backing next year.

All drivers, 16 of them competing in the various Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships and four in GT3, have been shortlisted for a year-long evaluation program, which focuses on both on and off-track performance and will feature evaluations on progression, consistency, experience, professionalism and technical feedback.

In contrast to previous years, the selection process for the Young Driver Program has moved away from age-based only criteria. Instead, the program intake consists of the most impressive drivers from the opening two rounds of the years, using a coefficient ranking across the three continental championships.

Drivers were assessed by Scuola Federale ACI Sport’s chief instructor Niki Cadei, as well as Lamborghini factory drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli.

As part of the program, qualifying and race results are monitored closely, as are other factors such as on-track etiquette and post-weekend driver reports and technical feedback with engineers and Squadra Corse staff.

An average score will determine the final shortlist, with a selected group of drivers then taking part in a dedicated training camp at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters as well as a final shootout at Misano, held in the days following the brand’s end-of-year World Finals event.

Enzo Geraci, who won last year’s shootout in Jerez, is the only driver selected who is currently contesting a dual Super Trofeo program, leading the European championship with Oregon Team while also driving for ANSA Motorsports in the North American series.

Geraci’s ANSA co-driver Colin Queen is one of two other North American drivers to make the cut, with Elias de la Torre and Al Morey Jr. also selected.

Anthony Pretorius, Silas Rytter and Jerzy Spinkiewicz, who recently all picked up maiden Super Trofeo Europe race wins at Spa-Francorchamps, have been selected, along with fellow series competitors Patrik Fraboni, Paul Levet, Hugo Bac, Calle Bergman, Guido Luchetti and Pablo Schumm.

The Super Trofeo field is rounded out by Ethan Brown, Alex Denning and Charles Leong Hon Chio, who all compete in the Asian championship.

The GT3 Junior Program, meanwhile is reserved for drivers who are contesting a GT3 championship at the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, with Hugo Cook, Andrea Frassineti, Robin Rogalski and Rodrigo Testa selected.
