Malthe Jakobsen led a 1-2 for Algarve Pro Racing in the second Free Practice session ahead of the Asian Le Mans Series double header finale at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit.
The Danish driver steered the No. 4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR Oreca 07 Gibson to a best lap of 1:41.337, 0.333 seconds clear of the No. 25 machine in the hands of Toby Sowery.
Alpine Hypercar driver Matthieu Vaxiviere picked up third in the No. 83 AF Corse Oreca, ahead of Proton Competition driver Julien Andlauer.
The No. 37 Cool Racing Oreca completed the top five ahead of 99 Racing stand-in Filipe Albuquerque and Nielsen Racing’s Matt Bell.
The overall top ten was rounded out by DKR Engineering, TF Sport’s No. 90 machine in the hands of Charlie Eastwood and Nielsen’s No. 24 entry.
Fabien Lavergne set the pace in LMP3 for CD Sport, posting a time of 1:49.318 to lead the class in the No. 2 Ligier JS P320 Nissan.
Cool Racing’s No. 17 machine took second, ahead of Bretton Racing and Viper Niza Racing.
In the GT class, Riccardo Pera reeled off a beast lap of 1:52.771 to put the No. 86 GR Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 atop the timesheets, just 0.021 seconds clear of AF Corse’s Davide Rigon and leading a Ferrari 1-2 in the process.
Casper Stevenson slotted into third at the wheel of the No. 77 D’station Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3, with Kei Cozzolino fourth in the No. 82 AF Corse Ferrari ahead of the No. 75 Team Motopark Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
Track action for the Asian Le Mans Series finale at Abu Dhabi continues with qualifying, scheduled for Friday at 10:45 a.m. local time (1:45 a.m. ET).
