Reigning GT Open champion Luzich Racing has announced three full-season drivers for its first year competing in the European Le Mans Series GTE class.
2017 FIA World Endurance GT champion Alessandro Pier Guidi will share driving duties in the team’s Ferrari 488 GTE with 22-year-old Dane Niklas Nielsen and and French racer Fabien Lavergne.
Pier Guidi is set for his first ELMS campaign since 2016 when he co-drove an AT Racing Ferrari 458 Italia with the father-son pairing of Alexander Talkanitsa Sr and Jr.
The Italian, who also races for Ferrari in the FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Pro class, is now likely to face a commitment clash during the ELMS/WEC double-header weekend at Silverstone in September.
His co-driver Nielsen was crowned Ferrari Challenge world champion in 2018 and also represented Denmark in the FIA GT Nations Cup.
The pair will be joined by bronze-rated Lavergne, who is set for his first full racing season off the back of sporadic LMP3 appearances.
Luzich has also confirmed that Lavergne and Mikkel Mac will share the team’s GT3-spec Ferrari in the Michelin Le Mans Cup races this season.
Mac sealed the GT Open drivers’ title last year in a Luzich-run 488 GT3 and was partnered with Pier Guidi for most of the season.
