Colin Braun will drive one of United Autosports’ Ligier JS P3 Nissans in the Michelin Le Mans Cup this season, the team announced on Friday.
He will partner with Naj Husain in the final lineup announced for the team’s three-car assault on the series which supports the European Le Mans Series.
They join previously-announced pairings of Matt Bell and Jim McGuire, and Richard Meins and Wayne Boyd.
Braun recently finished third in the Rolex 24 at Daytona with CORE autosport and has a wealth of experience in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship having raced both prototypes and GTs in the series.
Husain completed the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda series in third last season, driving a Ligier for Extreme Speed Motorsports.
“I am very excited to pair with Naj and United Autosports for the 2018 Michelin Le Mans Cup,” said Braun. “I have heard great things about the series and the tracks we get to visit.
“It will be nice to return to Le Mans after being on the podium in the GT class in the 24-hour event years ago.
“I have known Naj since he first started racing in America in Radicals and watching him grow and develop as a driver has been really exciting.
“I am looking forward to helping Naj transition into the longer endurance format. I know with a great team like United behind us the sky is the limit.
“Having raced against them at Daytona earlier this year I got a chance to observe their organisation first hand and it is quite impressive.
“I have had a few chances in the USA to drive the Ligier JS P3 and I really enjoyed it.”
