Jeff Segal will complete Scuderia Corsa’s all-American driver lineup at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it has been revealed.
The 30-year-old GT ace joins Bill Sweedler and Townsend Bell in the team’s Ferrari F458 Italia, marking all three drivers’ respective debuts in the French endurance classic.
It rekindles three-quarters of Scuderia Corsa’s GT Daytona lineup in this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, while Segal, Sweedler and Bell teamed with Alessandro Pier Guidi and Scott Tucker for top class honors at Daytona in 2014.
Segal, who has been adjusted from Gold to Silver driver rating by the FIA, has previous experience of the 8.5-mile Circuit de la Sarthe in a Ferrari Challenge race in 2013.
He also boasts knowledge of the Ferrari in FIA World Endurance Championship trim, having contested several end-of-season rounds last year with AF Corse.
The combination of Segal, Sweedler and Bell is only one of two all-American driver lineups in this year’s race, the other being the No. 31 Tequila Patron ESM Ligier JS P2 Honda of Ed Brown, Jon Fogarty and Johannes van Overbeek in LMP2.
Like ESM, Scuderia Corsa will also be making its Le Mans debut, although receiving logistical support from Michelotto.
