Gabriel Aubry and Matthias Kaiser have joined Vector Sport for the British team’s second season in the FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 class.
Vector on Thursday announced that Aubry and Kaiser will drive the No. 10 Oreca 07 Gibson for the seven-round season that opens at Sebring next month.
Aubry is set for a return to the WEC’s LMP2 division after racing for Ferrari squad Spirit of Race in GTE-Am last season.
The Frenchman’s last full-time LMP2 drive in the world championship came in 2019-20 with Jackie Chan DC Racing, although he has made occasional appearances since then.
Kaiser, meanwhile, is poised for his WEC debut after racing in other ACO-managed championships.
The 32-year-old Liechtensteiner drove a Muelhner Motorsport Oreca in the European Le Mans Series last year, building on previous stints in the LMP3 category.
Vector Sport was left with two vacant driver spots after the 2022 season as Ryan Cullen’s co-drivers Sebastien Bourdais and Nico Mueller shifted their focus to the Cadillac LMDh and Peugeot LMH programs respectively.
Cullen is on the WEC entry list, although it is unclear if he will complete the full season in the No. 10 Oreca. Sportscar365 understands that the Irish driver could be involved in the Isotta Fraschini LMH program that Vector Sport is working on.
“We are delighted to welcome Gabi and Matthias to the team,” said Vector team principal Gary Holland.
“We have had a strong pre-season and are very much looking forward to the Prologue and the Sebring race.
“We’re confident their individual qualities, drive and determination will help us continue to make a mark in what we know is going to be an intensely competitive season.”
