Paul Di Resta will join Filipe Albuquerque and Phil Hanson at United Autosports for June’s 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
The Scot competed with the team at Daytona, Sebring and Watkins Glen last year, while recently partnering Hanson in an Asian Le Mans Series campaign this winter.
The pair clinched the title at the final round at Sepang last month, giving the team an automatic entry invite for this year’s running of Le Mans.
Di Resta, Hanson and Albuquerque will team up for their second consecutive attempt at Le Mans after sharing one of the Anglo-American team’s Ligier JS P217 Gibsons last year.
Following this year’s running of the French endurance classic, the trio will reunite for the full 2019-20 WEC schedule which begins at Silverstone in September and finishes with Le Mans in June 2020.
“I’m really happy to be continuing with United Autosports in Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship,” said Di Resta.
“I think to continue where we have been with Phil in the Asian Le Mans Series and bringing the first LMP2 championship to the team, the obvious next step is to move into a world championship.
“It’s good that the driver line up is a familiar one, with Filipe being part of it too. It’s definitely a challenge I am up for.
“We have a little bit of time to prepare for it but I think that United are more than capable of taking it on.”
