Ferrari has revealed more details of the design of its hybrid-powered LMH car that will enter the FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar class next year.
The Italian manufacturer last month showed a teaser image of the car’s front end but has now followed that up with a picture of the full vehicle, although the full shape is obscured by shadows and a camouflage livery.
A Ferrari spokesperson confirmed that the car has completed its first rollout at the company’s Fiorano test track with Alessandro Pier Guidi behind the wheel.
Ferrari is aiming to run its unnamed LMH in the WEC from the opening round of the 2023 season and is currently utilizing its roster of factory GT drivers to develop the car.
“It is a truly exciting moment, awaited with trepidation by both the people who worked on this project and the fans of our house,” said Antonello Coletta, director of Ferrari’s GT sporting activities.
“Being able to touch the fruit of many months of work, design, simulations, gives us new energy and new stimuli.
“We are proud of the result we have achieved and, despite the masking that will characterize the LMH during the tests, hiding the volumes and the style of the car, I believe it is undeniably recognizable as a Ferrari.”
Ferrari’s commitment to the Hypercar category with a two-car factory program run by AF Corse coincides with the 50th anniversary of the manufacturer’s last top-category effort at Le Mans, which in turn will be celebrating its centenary next year.
