Nelson Panciatici will make the switch from Signatech Alpine to DC Racing for the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship, with the Frenchman having been confirmed in the team’s Alpine A460 Nissan.
The two-time European Le Mans Series champion will join David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung in the Chinese-entered LMP2 car, which will be operated by the Philippe Sinault-led Signatech Alpine squad.
Panciatici is coming off a strong second half of the 2015 season which saw a class win at Shanghai and podium at Fuji in the team’s Alpine A450b.
“We are delighted to continue the adventure with Nelson Panciatici,” Sinault said. “As a double ELMS champion with Signatech Alpine, he will bring his experience and his speed in collaboration with DC Racing.”
The news comes on the heels of Stéphane Richelmi completing the lineup in Signatech Alpine’s No. 36 entry alongside the previously announced Nicolas Lapierre and Gustavo Menezes.
It will effectively form a two-car team for the first time within the French organization.
“Within this group, we are proud and happy about the collaboration with DC Racing,” Sinault added. “It is a true honor to have been selected to provide technical expertise, logistics and sports program.
“We put all our experience and skills to the project’s success, with the backdrop of the development of Alpine’s awareness in China.”
