GMG’s Sargent Sweeps Long Beach Weekend

Australian claims another dominant win in Race 2 on streets of Long Beach…

Tom Sargent doubled up on his expected one-off return to Porsche Carrera Cup North America competition, with the GMG Racing driver having delivered another dominant run in Race 2 on the streets of Long Beach.

The U.S.-based Australian, a Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver, scored another flag-to-flag win on Sunday, taking his No. 32 Porsche 911 Cup car to a 0.965-second win over the No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche of Aaron Jeansonne.

Callum Hedge, in the No. 9 JDX Racing entry, made it an identical podium from Saturday’s opening 40-minute race of the weekend.

The No. 77 Topp Racing Porsche of Tyler Maxson finished fourth after once again having pressured Hedge, with contact made between the two cars on the penultimate lap, with Jared Thomas having completed the top-five int he No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering machine.

Patrick Mulcahy also claimed a sweep of the weekend in Pro-Am, but this time in a trouble-free run in his No. 54 ACI Motorsports Porsche.

Masters class honors, meanwhile, went to JTR’s Rob Walker, who actually finished ahead of Mulcahy on track.

Walker finished 14th overall, with Mulcahy in 15th, ahead of Masters runner-up Scott Blind in the Ruckus Racing Porsche.
