Dane Cameron and Andre Lotterer will be dropped from Porsche Penske Motorsport’s factory LMDh lineup next year, while Frederic Makowiecki will part ways with the manufacturer after an eleven-year stint as a factory driver.

Confirmed on Tuesday, the three drivers will not form part of the works driver lineup in either the FIA World Endurance Championship or IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025.

As previously reported by Sportscar365, Cameron and Lotterer were both rumored to be candidates to be removed from the lineup as the team evaluated a “shuffling” of its lineups ahead of the third season of competition for the Porsche 963.

Cameron, 36, recently captured his fourth WeatherTech Championship title by partnering with Felipe Nasr to win the GTP title. Cameron, Nasr, Matt Campbell and Josef Newgarden also won the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

Lotterer, meanwhile, can win the Hypercar world championship in next week’s 8 Hours of Bahrain, as he and teammates Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor hold a 35-point cushion over Ferrari trio Nicklas Nielsen, Miguel Molina and Antonio Fuoco.

In addition to Lotterer, Makowiecki will also no longer form part of Porsche’s Hypercar squad as the Frenchman leaves the Weissach marque after an eleven-year tenure as a factory driver.

The Frenchman first joined the brand’s lineup of works drivers in 2014, having previously won the Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2010.

He went on to achieve significant success as part of Porsche’s efforts in GT racing, scoring a GTE-Pro class win in 2022 and winning the Nürburgring 24 in 2018.

Additionally, his tenure as part of the factory GTLM program in the WeatherTech Championship resulted in three class victories in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and two wins at Motul Petit Le Mans.

“I’d like to thank Dane Cameron, Andre Lotterer and Frederic Makowiecki for their incredible work over the past few years,” said Porsche Motorsport boss Thomas Laudenbach.

“All three have played a significant role in us being able to celebrate great successes with the Porsche 963 on both sides of the Atlantic – in just the second year of competition.”
