While Toyota finally took home the hardware in a commanding 1-2 finish, this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans produced a number of riveting storylines on and off the track, leading to a record-breaking month for Sportscar365.com.

Sports car racing’s leading independent English-language news source enjoyed its most successful event to date in the Web site’s five-year history, with more than 1.1 million page views over the two-week period and new single-day traffic records throughout race week.

Formula 1 stars Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, as well as the evolving LMP1 class and record grid in GTE-Pro, helped deliver a 138 percent increase in overall traffic to the Web site compared to last year’s event, along with a 25 percent boost in unique viewers, year-to-year.

The unprecedented growth in traffic correlated to Sportscar365’s in-depth Le Mans coverage, with more than 150 articles published during the event from its on-site editorial team led by Editor-in-Chief John Dagys, along with Jake Kilshaw, Daniel Lloyd and Ryan Myrehn.

In addition to the up-to-the-minute news, along with notebooks, analysis and photo galleries, the site featured daily video updates and podcasts, hosted by Myrehn, throughout race week, adding to the depth of coverage.

“It’s incredible to see the response from this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Dagys. “We always put a huge amount of effort and investment into our Le Mans coverage as it’s the pinnacle event in the endurance racing world.

“Seeing the amount of interest and interaction we received this year is proof that the sport continues to grow, even amid the changing landscape.

“We’re proud to be one of the leading independent sources to provide a trusted link to fans around the world and appreciate all of the support.”

Founded in 2013, Sportscar365 continues its vertical growth path, with overall traffic up by nearly 30 percent from last year and signifiant increases in key markets including the UK, France and Germany.
