Car Collection on Pole for 12H Hockenheim

Car Collection Motorsport will start the Hankook 12H Hockenheim from pole position after beating out rival Audi squad JUTA Racing by two tenths of a second.

The team’s No. 34 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, driven in qualifying by Johannes Dr. Kirchhoff, Max Edelhoff and Elmar Grimm, posted a combined time of 1:43.109.

JUTA Racing’s N0. 71 Audi, which in contrast to the polesitting car is an R8 LMS GT3 Evo I, set a 1:43.309 thanks to the efforts of the all-Lithuanian crew of Julius Adomavičius, Eimantas Navikauskas and Jonas Gelžinis.

CP Racing took third overall with their No. 85 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Charles Putman, Charles Espenlaub and Joe Foster, a further 0.017 seconds behind JUTA Racing.

12H Spa winner Phoenix Racing lined up seventh overall as the fourth GT3 entrant, behind a pair of Porsche GT3 Cup cars and Leipert Motorsport’s No. 710 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo.

Phoenix’ No. 18 Audi will be driven by Michael Doppelmayr, Pierre Kaffer, Elia Erhart and Swen Herberger.

The GT3 field was rounded out by the No. 2 JR Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Ted van Vliet, Bas Schouten and Dirk Schouten.

The all-Dutch squad set a time of 1:45.049, just under two seconds removed from pole position.

They will line up tenth overall for Saturday’s first section of the race, which will run for six hours and five minutes.

The GT4 class consists of a single car, with the debuting MANIACK-Racing squad from Liechtenstein setting a best lap of 1:52.811.

Their No. 412 Mercedes-AMG GT4 is driven by Martin Wachter, Dario Pergolini and Constantin Kletzer.

The Hankook 12H Hockenheim kicks off at 1:50 p.m. local time.

RESULTS: Qualifying
