The 24H Series powered by Hankook will replace its canceled season finale at Sebring with a 12-hour event at the Kuwait Motor Town circuit, making it the first major international motorsport event to be hosted at the Middle Eastern venue.

The Hankook 12H Kuwait will be held on Nov. 30th – Dec. 2, with the exact event schedule still to be confirmed.

The race will run interrupted, starting at 12:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon and finishing at midnight.

It replaces the 24H Sebring, which was called off earlier this month due to “ongoing uncertainty in global logistics chains.”

Notably, the date for the event has also changed, taking place two weeks later than the original date for the Sebring event.

Creventic says the decision to race in Kuwait allows the series operate its logistics under more controlled circumstances, assuring safer transportation of equipment to both its 2022 finale and the Hankook 24H Dubai, which takes place on Jan. 13-15.

As the season finale, the race in Kuwait will decide the Championship of the Continents winners.

“To welcome a new and fantastic venue to the 24H Series calendar is very rewarding for all of us at Creventic, particularly one with the cultural significance of Kuwait,” said Creventic sporting coordinator Ole Doerlemann.

“It’s unfortunate of course that unanticipated factors worked against the 24H Series’ return to Sebring this season, but we are very pleased to have finalized a brand-new challenge for our competitors for the final round of our 2022 season.”

Kuwait Motor Town, opened in 2019, is located 56 kilometers (35 miles) from the nation’s capital Kuwait City and holds an FIA Grade One license.

“Our strategy has always been to place Kuwait on the map as a world-class race circuit and to have the biggest international motorsport organizers consider KMT as a must-race circuit when it comes to hosting a round in the region,” said Mohammad Al-Abdalrazzaq, Kuwait Motor Town general manager.

“The Hankook 12H Kuwait will have a variety of entertainment and educational aspects that will enhance and promote motorsports in the country.

“We are truly excited to showcase our outstanding facility and racetrack.”
