The No. 80 Car Collection Porsche 911 GT3 R has been promoted to pole position for the Hankook 12H Spa-Francorchamps after a post-qualifying penalty for the sister No. 12 car.

Antares Au, Kevin Tse and Jonathan Hui initially qualified second behind the No. 12 machine of Alex Jacoma, Yannick Mettler, Hash and Ivan Fontana in qualifying on Friday.

However, the polesitting Porsche has been demoted to third place after the team was penalized for failing to attend the mandatory drivers’ briefing.

Sportscar365 understands that one grid drop was given per each driver that went absent from the briefing, indicating that two drivers from the No. 12 crew did not attend.

As a result, Au, Tse and Hui will start from pole, while the No. 44 ARC Bratislava Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Miro Konopka, Zdeno Mikulasko, Anton Kaaba and Mateo Llarena has been promoted to second.

Jacoma, Mettler, Hash and Fontana will start from third, as the No. 1 HAAS RT Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II of Xavier Knauf, Gregory Servais and Tim Mueller has also received a one-place demotion for similar reasons.

The remainder of the top ten remains largely unaffected with the exception of the No. 10 Sainteloc Racing Audi of Michael Doppelmayr, Pierre Kaffer, Elia Erhart and Ernst Inderbitzin, which has been moved to the back of the grid after the team was deemed not to have respected the testing restrictions prior to the event.
