Random Vandals Poised for Two-Car BMW Effort in 2027

Random Vandals Racing is poised to return to a two-car BMW M4 GT3 EVO program in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS according to team owner Paul Sparta, who has called off prospects of entering the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The reigning GTWC America Pro class champions, which pivoted to a single Pro-Am class entry this season with Hampus Ericsson and Derek DeBoer, looks set to add an Am class BMW to its program next year for a to-be-announced driver pairing.

Sparta, meanwhile, indicated they could even add a fourth BMW M4 GT4 EVO entry to its current Pirelli GT4 America arsenal, revealing that talks are ongoing this weekend at Barber Motorsport Park on a possible additional Pro-Am entry.

“There’s a strong probability that we will have two cars in World Challenge next year and a similar number, [between] two and four in GT4 America,” Sparta told Sportscar365.

“The only thing right now is that it’s looking like I’ve got nothing in IMSA.”

While declining comment about the reason for no longer pursuing a GTD Pro or GTD program in the WeatherTech Championship, costs are believed to be a factor in the team’s decision to instead double down in SRO America.

It was initially in the mix to field a GTD Pro class BMW for this season, although the factory support instead again went to Paul Miller Racing.

Sparta, who has run a pair of GS class entries in Michelin Pilot Challenge this season, including a BMW for IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship winner Nicky Hays, confirmed that neither car is currently confirmed for next year as well.

The FIA Bronze-rated driver, who has largely sat out from driving this year, meanwhile, revealed that he will return to the wheel in next month’s GT4 America season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in a fourth entry alongside team newcomer Patrick Hamner.

Sparta also wouldn’t rule out an appearance in next year’s Texas 8 Hour at Circuit of The Americas, as the third driver in its earmarked Am class BMW entry.

The team enters this weekend’s penultimate event of the season at Barber leading the Pro-Am class in GT4 America with Sam Craven.
