Matteo Malucelli has been given a one-race suspension from Creventic, following the Italian driver’s multi-car accident in last weekend’s 24 Hours of Barcelona.

Malucelli’s Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 collided wth the No. 62 MSG Motorsport Porsche of Cody Hill and the No. 235 DUWO Racing BMW of Fortia Pares on the pit straight around 2 a.m., ending all three team’s races in the 24H Series round.

A statement from Creventic reads:

“Due to the accident during the Hankook 24H Barcelona on Saturday night between No. 62 MSG Motorsport, No. 235 DUWO Racing and No. 11 Scuderia Praha, it has been decided that driver Matteo Malucelli, who was driving the No. 11 Scuderia Praha Ferrari, not to welcome in the next event of the 24H Series due to causing an avoidable collision.

“It is fair to add that until the accident took place the feedback from different drivers about the driving behavior in general, but also about the No. 11 Scuderia Praha Ferrari were positive and was fitting in our philosophy.”

It marked the second major accident of the year for the Czech team, which was suspended from the Hankook 12 Hours of Mugello-Italy due to an accident in the season-opening 24 Hours of Dubai from driver Matteo Cressoni in January.
