V8 Racing Corvette Quickest in FP2

V8 Racing led the way in an abbreviated Free Practice 2 in Dubai, the final session prior to qualifying for tomorrow’s Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai.

Nicky Pastorelii took the No. 333 Corvette C6.R GT1 to a best time of 2:00.568 in the two-hour and 30-minute session, edging out the No. 28 Land Motorsport Audi R8 LMS by 0.077 seconds.

The No. 27 SPS Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 was third quickest, with the No. 4 C.Abt Racing Audi and Attempto Racing Porsche completing the top-five.

The story of the session was the massive fire by the No. 16 Black Falcon Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 of Patrick Assenheimer, who has escaped serious injury fro the blaze.

Qualifying is set to get underway at 4:15 p.m. local time.
