Craft-Bamboo Racing will make the switch from Aston Martin to Porsche for 2016, with the Hong Kong-based squad having been confirmed as the German manufacturer’s technical partner for the Asia-Pacific region.
The reigning GT Asia Champions will return to the competitive sprint race championship with two new Porsche 911 GT3 Rs. Additional races, including the FIA GT World Cup, Sepang 12 Hours and Bathurst 12 Hour, is also planned.
“The GT3 class has become one of the most highly contested and challenging arenas of motorsport, and therefore we put immense focus in developing the new 911 GT3 R,” said Head of Porsche Motorsport Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser.
“We are confident that our cars will provide Craft-Bamboo Racing with the performance they need to continue winning championships in Asia and around the world.”
Craft-Bamboo Racing CEO Richard Coleman added: “To give ourselves the best possible chance at winning on race day, we believe that having the support of a strong brand is pivotal to our success and we have always hoped to work alongside a manufacturer that can help elevate our team to the next level.
“I believe, in joining Porsche, we have found the perfect partner.”
Specific details of the technical partnership will be announced shortly, which will include technical support for customers of 911 GT3 Rs in the Asia-Pacific region.
