Hawkey to Continue in T3 Motorsport Lamborghini

T3 Motorsport has announced the retention of Esmee Hawkey for her second DTM season with the German Lamborghini customer squad.

Hawkey drove one of the T3 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evos full-time last term and will continue behind the wheel for this year’s eight-round campaign.

Multimedia company ROKiT will continue to support her program in the championship.

T3 Motorsport is hoping to return with a pair of Lamborghinis in the DTM this year, although Hawkey’s teammate from last season Esteban Muth has been signed to drive one of the Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3s.

Hawkey’s maiden year in the DTM was highlighted by a points finish in the opening race of the weekend at Assen.

“I’m over the moon to be returning to the DTM series this year,” she said.

“I loved every second of it in 2021 – my first year in GT3 machinery and my first time at many international circuits. I’m so proud to be a part of the ROKiT and ABK Beer family and cannot wait to represent them on and off the track again this year.

“My sincere thanks goes to Jonathan Kendrick and everyone at The ROKiT Group.

“I learnt an awful lot with the team at T3 Motorsport and I’m looking forward to taking that experience and building upon it this year. We achieved some great things together in 2021 so it’s brilliant that we’ll have the opportunity to grow that further.”

T3 Motorsport team principal Jens Feucht added: “We are really happy that we can continue our involvement with Esmee.

“She absolutely convinced us in the past season and is a real asset to our team and also to DTM in every way.

“We are particularly happy to be part of DTM again, a series that we have come to appreciate as a worldwide unique race series. Therefore, we wil be working hard to turn the entry of a second Lamborghini into reality as well.”
