AKKA ASP has confirmed its plans to enter a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the inaugural FIA GT Nations Cup in Bahrain, representing France.

The recently-crowned Blancpain GT Series teams’ champion will field a car for Jim Pla and Jean-Luc Beaubelique in the Nov. 30 – Dec. 1 event.

Both drivers have competed for the Jerome Policand-led squad in Championnat de France FFSA GT this season with a Mercedes-AMG GT4, while Beaubelique has also formed part of the team’s Blancpain GT Series lineup.

AKKA ASP is the second team to confirm an entry for the race, following Grove Racing’s announcement last month to represent Australia.

SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stephane Ratel revealed at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last weekend that he expects between 20 and 25 entries for the Silver and Bronze-only race.
