James Calado has retaken the lead and extended his advantage with four hours complete in the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
The Ferrari factory driver holds a 23-second advantage over the No. 63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Andrea Caldarelli, after an early race battle between the two cars.
Calado took the lead following the race’s second safety car period, for an accident by the No. 17 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS of Jamie Green, and gradually extended his margin over the Lamborghini.
Nico Mueller runs third in the No. 1 WRT Audi, with Franck Perera the best of the Mercedes-AMG GT3s in fourth and the No. 2 WRT Audi of Frederic Vervisch running fifth.
The No. 8 M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3, which briefly led in the hands of Vincent Abril, had its drive-through penalty for exceeding the stint length canceled after the car was blocked at pit-in during the yellow.
It was the only major drama to hit the race, other than accidents for Green and the No. 50 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 of Pasin Lathouras.
