Dani Pedrosa will make his Fanatec GT2 European Series debut at the upcoming Valencia round behind the wheel of a KTM X-Bow GT2.
The 31-time MotoGP race winner will share a True Racing by Reiter Engineering-entered car with KTM Executive Board member Hubert Trunkenpolz.
Trunkenpolz teamed with Reinhard Kofler for the opening rounds of the season, taking a Pro-Am class podium at the Red Bull Ring.
Since ending his active MotoGP career at the end of 2018, Pedrosa has served as a test and development rider for the Austrian manufacturer’s motorcycle team.
The Spaniard made his four-wheel debut last year, teaming up with Antonin Borga at FFF Racing Team in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
“Dani is a racer through and through and a real asset to KTM,” said Trunkenpolz.
“Everyone in the team is hugely looking forward to his debut in the Fanatec GT2 European Series.
“We firmly believe that he can perform just as well on four wheels as he can on two, and we can’t wait to hear what he has to say about the KTM X-Bow GT2.”
At Valencia, the GT2 European Series forms part of the support bill for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup.
True Racing by Reiter Engineering is in contention for the Pro-Am title, with the pairing of Nicolas Saelens and Stefan Rosina just three points behind the LP Racing duo of Henry Hassid and Anthony Beltoise.
In the Am-class, KTM squads have won all but one race as RTR Projects driver Jan Krabec sits atop the points standings ahead of True Racing’s Klaus Angerhofer.
