Cooper Leads Nissan Front Row Lockout for COTA Enduro

Michael Cooper has led a front row sweep for the Nissan Z NISMO GT4 in qualifying for this evening’s inaugural Pirelli GT4 America endurance race at Circuit of The Americas.

Cooper, in the No. 9 Blackdog Racing Nissan, reeled off a best time of 2:13.287 to outpace Flying Lizard Motorsports driver Rodrigo Baptista by 0.632 seconds.

Parker Thompson qualified third overall and first in the Silver class in his No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, followed by Flying Lizard’s Tom Dyer in the No. 13 Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

Matheus Leist completed the top-five overall in the No. 89 RENNTech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4, ahead of Eric Filgueiras’ No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Kay van Berlo and Roman De Angelis qualified seventh and eighth, for ACI Motorsports and Heart of Racing Team, respectively.

Am class pole honors went to Denny Stripling in the No. 188 Fast Track Racing BMW M4 GT4, which will start from 16th overall on the 29-car grid.

The three-hour enduro gets underway at 5 p.m. CDT with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
