TechSport Racing will campaign the Nissan Z GT4 in Pirelli GT4 America this year, becoming the first confirmed team with the Japanese manufacturer’s new GT4 offering in North America.
The Virginia-based squad, which has a long history of running the Nissan 370Z in TC America, will step up to GT4 competition with the recently launched model.
“We are thrilled to be the first customer team to run the new Z GT4 car in competition in the United States,” said team owner Kevin Anderson.
“The car combines the best of the previous-generation Z with the latest design and engineering upgrades. Nissan has absolutely nailed the look and function of this car. It is a masterpiece.”
The team has yet to announce its driver lineup for the expected two-car effort.
“TechSport Racing is extremely excited to be a part of the introduction of this magnificent car to such a competitive class,” said team owner Deb Popolizio.
“The level of commitment that Nissan has demonstrated to perfecting this car for the track pretty much guarantees its success.”
TechSport is one of several ‘pilot customer teams’ with the Z GT4, which will only compete in GT4 America and Japan’s Super Taikyu Series with technical support from NISMO.
Z1 Motorsports, one of the world’s largest distributor of Z parts, will be supporting TechSport’s efforts for the upcoming season.
