The No. 26 Sainteloc Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo has been stripped of its Silver Cup class win in Sunday’s Indianapolis 8 Hour due to a post-race time penalty issued for a pit lane infringement.

The Aurelien Panis, Lucas Legeret and Nicolas Baert-driven Audi — along with three other cars — have had 53 seconds added to its result for entering a closed pit, which has demoted the French Audi to a second place class finish.

As a result, Compass Racing with drivers Ashton Harrison, Mario Farnbacher and Matt McMurry have inherited the class win in their No. 77 Acura NSX GT3 Evo.

The ruling was made following the post-race podium ceremonies and has also affected the No. 99 Craft-Bamboo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, No. 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 and No. 10 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

However, none of the other three cars have had a position change as a result of the post-race time adjustment.

The penalty also has an effect on the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli manufacturer points, with the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 now scoring fourth place points and the No. 32 Team WRT Audi in fifth.

Sainteloc’s Silver entry had initially scored points for the German manufacturer.

RESULTS: Indianapolis 8 Hour (Updated)
