McLaren Trophy America is set for its highly anticipated debut at Road America, with the new-for-2025 single-make series set to tackle the four-mile Wisconsin circuit for the first time this weekend.

A total of 14 cars are entered for the seventh and eighth rounds of the season, the same number that were entered at the most recent round at Virginia International Raceway but with two changes.

The No. 3 Flying Lizard Motorsports McLaren Artura Trophy Evo entry of George Lawrence and Spencer Bucknum, as well as the No. 4 GMG Racing entry of K.C. King and John Capestro-Dubets will not compete following complications from their high-speed accident in practice at VIR.

Both cars had terminal damage in the accident between Lawrence and Capestro-Dubets, with Lawrence reportedly sustained non life-threatening injuries from the crash.

In their place, Forte Racing has entered a second McLaren for Tanner Harvey and Patrick Liddy, while AERO-B Motorsports has returned to the grid with Chris Leichtweis and Jason Guzman at the wheel.

Additionally, Robby Stockard is expected to be back in the No. 56 Hooper Street Racing McLaren alongside his father, Bob, who took part in the VIR rounds as a solo driver.

Following their fourth win of the season, and another sweep of the weekend, RWE Motorsport’s Casey Dennis and James Li hold a ten-point lead over second-placed Cooper Broll and Tommy Pintos in their Skip Barber Racing entry in the Pro class.

Pro-Am is headed up by Motorsports In Action’s Alexandra Hanier and Jesse Lazare, who are five points ahead of RWE’s Andrew Davis and John Dempsey, who swept the weekend at VIR.

James Sofronas leads the way in the Am class, after picking up a class win last time out while driving with a broken ankle in his No. 14 GMG Racing entry.

Sofronas holds a 12-point lead over TechSport’s Colin Harrison entering the final four races of the inaugural season.

McLaren Trophy America competitors will have their first track appearances in Friday with a pair of 60-minute practice sessions, followed by qualifying and races on Saturday (12:05 p.m. CST) and Sunday (10:15 a.m.), respectively.

Both races will be streamed on SRO’s GT World and McLaren Automotive’s YouTube channels.
