Archangel Aston Leads Practice 1 at Sonoma

The No. 069 Archangel Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Billy Johnson paced the opening Pirelli GT4 America practice session of the weekend at Sonoma Raceway.

Johnson reeled off a best time of 1:45.868 to go fastest in the 45-minute session, edging out the Silver class No. 34 Conquest Racing/JMF Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 by 0.453 seconds.

The Archangel-run Pro-Am class entry is being shared by Johnson and co-driver Todd Coleman.

The No. 47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport was third quickest, followed by the No. 95 OGH/Valkyrie Velocity Porsche in fourth.

Chouest Povoledo Racing’s Aston Martin, meanwhile, completed the top-five overall.

No major incidents were reported during the session, which ran without any red flags.

Session 2 is on tap for a 5:10 p.m. PT start time.
