Racers Edge Motorsports is now under the ownership of brothers Jim and Nick Pattin, following the sale of the Florida-based team by longtime owner Jon Mirachi.
Formalized this week, the changeover comes following Mirachi’s retirement last May following more than 35 years in the motorsports industry, having led the team to numerous wins and championships.
“Jon built something incredibly special,” said Jim Pattin. “The standards, the reputation, and the culture at Racers Edge Motorsports exist because of his leadership. Nick and I are proud to carry that forward.”
Jim Pattin was promoted to team manager following Mirachi’s retirement and will continue in that role while also serving as principal owner.
In more than two decades with the team, since 2002, Pattin has contributed to nearly every area of the organization. As lead race engineer, Pattin played a key role in many of the team’s most significant successes, including one of the world’s most successful Acura NSX GT3 programs.
Pattin will also remain actively involved in the technical direction of the team as lead engineer, while overseeing the team’s business and competitive operations.
After serving as the team’s lead mechanic for more than ten years, Nick Pattin now formally steps into the crew chief position as co-owner, overseeing race shop workflow, mechanical operations, and preparation standards across all customer programs.
He has been a key contributor to multiple championship-winning campaigns and is widely respected in the paddock for his hands-on skill and attention to detail.
“This transition is about continuity and growth,” said Nick Pattin. “We’re building on what’s already proven — strong preparation, accountability, and teamwork — while continuing to raise the bar.”
Mirachi, who has since moved to Italy, added: “I have no doubt I’m leaving the team in very capable hands.
“Jim has the knowledge and skill set to lead Racers Edge Motorsports to continued success, and he has experience in every aspect of the paddock and the race shop.
“He has grown beyond being a brilliant engineer and has been an integral part of all our championship seasons.
“Nick is as equally a fine person as his brother, personally, but also extremely skilled as mechanic professionally.
“He has earned his stellar reputation in the paddock with his methodical preparation, and he respects everyone at the track, from the corner workers and series staff to crew members from other teams.
“Over the years with Racers Edge Motorsports, Nick has developed into a championship caliber mechanic, and I know he will provide the support and dedication to help lead the team into this next era.”
The team has confirmed its intent to continue running Aston Martin machinery and plans to campaign one of the manufacturer’s cars for the 2026 season, with additional details to come on the program.
It most recently competed in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS with drivers Jason Bell and Michael Cooper.
