Officials from Kavana Rum and SRO Motorsports America, the producers of Blancpain GT World Challenge America, announced today a new performance based award with $500,000 in prize money available for the 2019 season.
With one of the most exciting announcements in sports car racing, Kavana Rum is seeking to inspire drivers and teams in the pursuit of making motorsports history.
The Kavana Cup, a $500,000 prize purse, is being offered to the world’s best sports car racing drivers. Knowing that success comes at all levels, the Kavana Cup will be the trophy of choice for those in GT3, GT4, and TC in what is sure to bring a whole new level of excitement to an already exhilarating sport.
Kavana Rum, the premium rum in the marketplace, is chaired by Josh Tolley, the founder and managing partner of Purple Monkey Garage.
“When we came on board with SRO Motorsports America for the 2019 season, we quickly realized that this is the place for the world’s best drivers, teams, and competition,” said Josh Tolley, founder of Kavana Rum.

Kavana Rum, through the Kavana Cup, seeks to inspire teams and drive excellence for participants competing in the SRO Motorsports America run series with this new award.
The Kavana Cup will seek out a driver or driver pairing that executes at the highest level throughout the season for a sizeable year-end bonus.

This performance based award will feature an additional prize purse totalling $500,000 after completing a set of objectives including pole positions, fastest race laps, and weekend race win sweeps.
$250,000 will go towards Blancpain GT World Challenge America competitors, $150,000 to Pirelli GT4 America national series (Sprint or SprintX), and $100,000 to TC America.
