The return of the No. 88 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 has bolstered the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS grid as it heads to Barber Motorsports Park for the first time in eight years.

Custodio Toledo and Riccardo Agostini will again pilot the Prancing Horse for what will be the car’s second outing of the season after Agostini put the car on pole for Race 1 at Circuit of The Americas in May.

The Pro-Am class entry joins the team’s Am class effort that debuted last time out at Road America for Ozz Negri and Jay Schreibman.

It means the series retains a 16-car grid, despite the partial-season Esses Racing effort not being present in Alabama.

Bryson Morris, who won in his Fanatec GT America debut with DXDT Racing in Race 2 at Road America, will continue in the cockpit of the team’s Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R alongside Bryan Sellers.

Conor Daly, meanwhile, is set for his first series start in Random Vandals Racing’s BMW M4 GT3, which will again contend for Pro class honors.

The No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Elliott Skeer and Adam Adelson currently lead the class although have come under attack by Alec Udell and Tommy Milner in the No. 63 DXDT Corvette, which rides a six-race class win streak into Barber.

Skeer and Adelson’s 35-point lead could still be overturned, depending on the results this weekend and at next month’s double points-paying season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS.

Pro-Am is slightly more straight forward, with ST Racing’s Neil Verhagen and Samantha Tan holding a 45-point cushion over Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg of Turner Motorsport, meaning the Canadian squad could clinch the title this weekend with a strong pair of finishes.

Fanatec GT America cars will take to Barber for the first time on Friday for a pair of practice sessions, followed by qualifying and the first race of the weekend on Saturday. Race 2 gets underway on Sunday afternoon.

Qualifying and the two 90-minute contests will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
