Today’s second GT/GTA race of the Pirelli World Challenge weekend in Detroit, which was due to be the 11th round of the season, has been canceled due to inclement weather and unsafe track conditions.

The series ran a 30-minute warmup session this morning, which had both drivers and track workers note visibility concerns on the 2.35-mile Raceway on Belle Isle street circuit.

An official statement from the series reads: “GT/GTA Round 11 at Detroit’s Belle Isle has been cancelled due to inclement weather and reduced track visibility and the overall focus on the safety of series drivers, teams and Detroit Grand Prix course workers.

“A formal announcement related to a potential makeup race will be made early this week.”

Today’s race was due to be live on CBS Sports Network at noon ET; instead, Saturday’s Round 10 will be shown in its place.

This marks the first GT/GTA race cancellation since the first race at St. Petersburg last year. It was eventually made up at Miller Motorsports Park as part of the season finale weekend.
